The popular Goodguys “Of the Year” awards program will feature two brand new awards for 2008 – taking it from a total of ten awards to twelve for the 2008 season. The new awards are the Goodguys 2008 Muscle Machine of the Year and the Goodguys 2008 West Coast Kustom of the Year. Here’s a closer look at both new awards:

2008 West Coast Custom of the Year
Selected at: 26th All American Get-Together, March 29 & 30 in Pleasanton, CA
Who’s eligible: Custom cars 1936 through 1964 vintage
How to Enter: You must have your custom entered in the indoor portion of the All American Get-Together to be eligible for this new award.
Basic Criteria: This award is designed to honor an exceptional custom car. The award is open to all styles and genres of customs (from traditional to modern).
The Prize: National bragging rights, a beautiful hand cast pewter award, a check for $1,000, full color feature in the Goodguys Gazette and Yearbook, and an exclusive invitation and travel accommodations to the season-ending Goodguys Southwest Nationals, November 14-16 in Scottsdale, Arizona!

2008 Goodguys/Detroit Speed Muscle Machine of the Year
Selected at: A finalist will be selected at the following 2008 events:
2nd Meguiar’s Orange County Get-Together, March 15 & 16, Costa Mesa, CA
2nd NAPA Southern Nationals, June 13-15, Atlanta, GA
3rd Nashville Nationals, June 27-29, Nashville, TN
7th Midwestern Nationals, August 29-31, Kansas City, KS
2nd PEAK Chicagoland Nationals, Sept. 19-21, Joliet, IL
4th Great American Nationals, Sept 26-28, Pocono, PA
16th Lone Star Nationals, October 3-5, Ft. Worth, TX
15th Southeastern Nationals, October 24-26, Charlotte, NC
The winner will be selected from the eight finalists selected at these events. The winner will be announced Friday, October 31st at www.good-guys.com
Who’s Eligible: Muscle Machines 1960 through 1972 vintage.
How To Enter: Only cars parked in the Mighty Muscle corral will be eligible for this award.
Basic Criteria: A Muscle Machine is defined by Goodguys as a Muscle Car that has been modified to perform at a high level including handling, stance, body & paint and engineering.
