Goodguys President Marc Meadors, 41, is about to go fast. Real fast. Starting Monday, May 5th Meadors will begin shake down runs on his newly constructed 1969 Pro Street Camaro at Gateway International Raceway just outside St Louis.
Built by Tim McAmis Race Cars in Hawk Point, Missouri, Meador’s silver Camaro is a full tube chassis racer equipped with a 450-inch Brad Anderson Hemi blown on Alcohol sporting a massive 14-71 Kobelco Supercharger, Waterman fuel pump, Lenco three speed and a three disc Molinari clutch.
After getting a baseline with the car this spring and summer, plans call for Meadors to compete in the Pacific Street Car Association’s Hughes Performance Pro Street Class as well as the Super Pro Street division of the Orlando World Street Nationals.
“The car should run 6.50 elapsed times at 220mph or thereabouts,” Meadors said. “I was lucky enough to compete with another silver Camaro back in the 1990s in the Pro Street division of the NMCA. We were in the Hot Rod Magazine top 10 one year in Memphis so we’ve had success. We’ll take it slow and see how it goes. It will be a fun summer between our busy Goodguys schedule and racing the Camaro.”
