1. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the pit area.

2. Misconduct at the event by driving or behavior will be cause for ejection from the event. Tampering with any required safety device or safety equipment to render it ineffective will be grounds for immediate ejection from the event and will carry a fine and/or a suspension from the association events for an amount and/or time to be determined by the event officials.

3. Failure to follow directions from the starter or any race official will be cause for disqualification.

4. Vehicles may not proceed to the staging lanes without passing a technical inspection.

5. Crew personnel in the staging lanes or starting line area should be fully attired (shoes are required). All occupants of push trucks must be seated while vehicle is in motion. Starter and primer of remote start cars must stand to side of car not in front of vehicle.

6. All races will be final when you take the stage bulbs, no rerun for handicap or classification error after the race has been run. If you accept the green light, you accept all terms of that race.

7. PIT SPACE: each participant will be assigned a specific marked pit space. All pit support/equipment must be kept within this designated pit space.

8. A jack and jack stands are required when working underneath any car in the pits. When starting a vehicle in the pit area, vehicle must be fully within the assigned pit space and a licensed driver must be in the driver's seat. No part of the car may extend past the end of the trailer. (PENALTIES: 1st OFFENSE, $100 AND LOSS OF NEXT RUN, 2nd OFFENSE, LOSS OF EVENT AND $300).

9. The practice of transbrake testing, converter stalls, line-loc testing, and/or transmission warming is prohibited in all classes, in all areas of the event except in the starting line approach areas beyond staging, or unless the vehicle is on jackstands. Non-compliance is grounds for disqualification.

10. No water burnouts with street tires allowed.

11. All cars will be inspected for general safety and classification. For classification purposes, the small block engine will be defined as a true wedge with inline valves 410 cu in or less. All canted valve or splayed valve engines will be classified on an individual basis. By your entry into this event, you acknowledge VRA’s right to inspect your vehicle at any time for legality and safety violations. VRA will make every effort to make these inspections in a timely manner. VRA’s policy on allowable limits in cubic inch of displacement, weight or any other standard is 0. The racer must allow for any variance in measuring devices.

12. Any person operating a self-powered vehicle, including but not limited to scooters, mini-bikes, motorcycles and golf carts, MUST be 16 years of age and have a valid drivers license. Such vehicles being operated by anyone under the age of 16, or someone being suspected of being under 16 and not carrying a driver’s license, will be confiscated and returned to a parent or guardian upon completion of the event.

13. Data recorders are legal in all classes, but cannot perform any function of the driver or in any way operate any system on the vehicle.

14. Burnouts will be limited to one across the line only in pro classes (TF, FC, AA/G, A/F, J/F, A/G and NE-I). Burnouts under power past the starting line are prohibited in all other classes.

15. VRA does not recognize courtesy staging. The practice referred to as “deep staging” is prohibited in B/G, C/G, D/G, NE-II, NE-III and HR. Both pre-stage and stage lights must be activated to constitute a legal start in those categories. The blue light will be activated in these categories. The final staging motion, using applied power, must be in a forward motion, going from pre-stage to stage positions. Starter decision is final in all matters of staging or starting of the race.

16. The Race Director’s decision will be final in all matters.

GENERAL EVENT PROCEDURES

LADDER FORMATION & PROCEDURES: LADDER FORMATION & PROCEDURES: All ladders will be set after the last qualifying pass on Saturday. After the ladder is set, no changes will be made except alternate insertion for no-show cars of the first round. These insertions will be directly into the no-show car’s qualifying spot in an ascending order. Alternates will only be taken from non-qualified cars as they appear on qualifying sheets. If alternates are not available, the open slots will be considered break singles and not bye-runs. Full points are awarded to the original qualifying driver; alternate accumulates points after the first round. Prize money will be awarded to original winning driver; alternate can win money after reinsertion round. All ladders except Top Fuel, will be constructed on a VRA professional format, with number one running number five, number two running number six, etc. Top Fuel will run on a NHRA professional ladder with number one running number sixteen, number two running number fifteen, etc. Hot Rod will not be laddered, they will be on a random paired, all-run basis. Turn around time between rounds will be 90 minutes from the time that the last pair in the session runs.

BREAK RULE PROCEDURES: This applies to the professional categories only and does not apply to Sportsman Index and Hot Rod. Break re-insertion goes to the low ET loser of the previous round providing a non-disqualified pass. A redlight is not a disqualifying run. Index classes are closest to the index, but not under. If more than one slot exists, it goes to the second low ET loser, etc. Lane choice goes to the winning vehicle only. In the event that two losing vehicles are inserted into the next ladder positions, lane choice goes to the quicker of the two, providing both vehicles possess disqualification-free losses. A disqualification loss prevents the ET from being used for lane choice. All points and money are awarded to original winning driver, alternate accumulates points after reinsertion round. A competitor may only be re-inserted one time per event, unless no other competitors are available.

LANE CHOICE: Professional categories: Lane choice in the first round will be determined by qualifying times. All further rounds are determined by low ET of the preceding rounds. Sportsman categories: Lane choice is the responsibility of the racer and is done by coin toss. This must be done before leaving the staging lanes. Either racer may request the coin toss. Lane choice does not have to be selected until the point of entry into the burnout box. The car without lane choice should refrain from blocking entry into either lane, regardless of earlier verbal agreement between the competitors. If both cars have set in the burnout box and a track oil-down or facility problem occurs causing a delay of the run, the car with lane choice may request a lane change.

QUALIFYING & TIME TRIALS: All professional categories will be qualified by session only. IF YOU LOSE FIRE OR CANNOT FIRE YOUR ENGINE, YOUR QUALIFYING ATTEMPT IS OVER. We will attempt to provide two full qualifying sessions for professional and index categories, providing cooperation from the weather and no major on-track problems. No make-up will be provided to those who miss any qualifying session. No make-up will be make due to weather or on track problems. Should the Saturday pro sessions be cancelled for any reason, the ladder will be constructed by the current VRA points standing. Hot Rod will be given a minimum of two time trial sessions on Saturday, weather and track conditions permitting. This is not a guarantee of session. If time exists on Saturday, a third and fourth time trial session will be run only for the cars who do not have two punches on their run cards.
