The unveiling of Project CleanAir ’55, this year’s Grand Prize Giveaway vehicle, took place Friday, March 11th under sunny Arizona skies as builders Rodger Lee (Ironworks Speed & Kustom) and Kenny Davis (Kenny Davis Hot Rods) revealed the car in front of an enthusiastic audience at the 2nd Spring Nationals.
The PPG red beauty captivated the crowd with its low stance, shiny chrome bumpers, Wilwood big brake kit, Intro wheels and soft brown leather interior courtesy of the Recovery Room. The emissions legal GM E-Rod engine was throaty but oh-so smooth as it idled with a potent rump, rump, rump.
A special three-part build feature will run in coming issues of the Goodguys Gazette. Make sure to stop by the Goodguys big rig at a national event near you to see this cool convertible cruiser up close and personal. Don’t forget to fill out your Sunday Lucky Ticket for your chance to qualify as a finalist for CleanAir ’55!
Also making its debut in Scottsdale was the ’65 Ford Galaxie built by Drew Brothers Customs which is a local Arizona giveaway car from Goodguys, CBS5 and KOOL FM. The Ford Muscle Car is the nicest regional giveaway car Goodguys has ever been associated with. It features a Baer big brake kit, PPG paint, Grant steering wheel, Griffin radiator, Flowmaster exhaust and goodies from Edelbrock.
