Summers Wins 2012 Sponsor Shootout AutoCross!

-Brad Coomer drives the Summer's & Sons 'Saturday Night Special" '70 C-10 to victory

Goodguys Transportation Coordinator Trent Summers showed at the Goodguys 15th PPG Nationals he knows a lot more about trucks than one might think. Responsible for getting the Goodguys 18 wheeler safely down the road on top of his many other staff duties, Summers had the opportunity to show what he can do on-track, winning the 2012 Goodguys Sponsor Shootout AutoCross with he and his family’s “Saturday Night Special” ’70 Chevy C-10 AutoCross machine.

With Indiana’s Brad Coomer behind the wheel, the heavily modified C-10, which features ultra trick Wilwood “wide 5” hubs, Wilwood ultra light calipers and Ridetech triple adjustable coilovers all four corners, blistered the asphalt going undefeated in 4-eleimination rounds for the big win beating out a national field of the country’s top AutoCrosser’s.  In the final round, Coomer beat Nashville’s Brian Lynch with a 33.474 for the win – his best run of the day.

“My boys and I showed the world you can build an autocross car on a budget and still beat the best.” He said.

Well done Trent. Well done!
