The COMP Cams Builders Duel® presented by Snap-on as well as The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge will both be contested at select Goodguys events this 30th Anniversary season. These exciting at-event engine building competitions feature teams competing against each other as they tear down then build back up complete small block GM V8 engines racing against the clock to see who can finish first.
The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge will be contested at the Goodguys 20th Summer Get-Together presented by Specialty Sales Classics June 1 & 2 at the Pleasanton Fairgrounds. The HROT staff is looking at adding as many as three to four more Goodguys events in 2014. This contest features as many as four to six teams of high school students going at it in a frenetic pace to the finish under the watchful eyes of a referee. The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge travels the country annually staging these competitions and was a huge hot at the SEMA show last fall.
The COMP Cams Builders Duel®presented by Snap-on will be contested at the Goodguys 16th PPG Nationals July 12-14 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, OH as well as the Goodguys 21st Lone Star Nationals, October 4-6 at Texas Motor Speedway in Ft Worth, TX. The COMP Cams® Engine Builder Duel, presented by Snap-On Tools, pits two, two-man teams against each other to see which one can completely assemble and crank a Small Block Chevy engine in the shortest amount of time. Equipped with nothing but their knowledge, contestants are given the appropriate parts and tools to complete the build, but may not ask questions of anyone in the crowd. First place winners of each contest will each be rewarded with a $250 COMP Cams® gift certificate, while runner-up team members will each receive a $125 certificate.
