Goodguys Find a Home in New England – 22nd East Coast Nationals Recap

It’s official. The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association has found a home in New England! The Goodguys 22nd Grundy Worldwide Insurance East Coast Nationals, held for the second consecutive year at the Eastern States Exposition Center in W. Springfield, Massachusetts had an electric vibe, over 1,500 great show cars, perfect early summer weather (a lot of sun Friday and Saturday and a little cloud cover to cool it off on Father’s Day) and a wide-eyed, enthusiastic crowd.

It’s always cool to see people attending their first-ever Goodguys event. They’re like kids at the candy store, pointing, gawking, smiling and sharing memories.

This year’s AutoCross track offered a serious challenge with tight turns, slight undulations and on-the-loud-pedal straightaways bringing cheers from the large crowds.

Even though the car count grew from last year’s first-ever East Coast Nationals in New England, more car guys should take advantage of this perfectly located event! This fairgrounds in GIANT (as well as gorgeous), the infrastructure is great and the people are some of the nicest we’ve met in our decades on the road.

We’ll be back bigger and better for the 23rd East Coast Nationals Father’s Day Weekend 2014! We expect to see you here!
