A big evening of Friday Nite drag racing and fun is on tap July 11th at National Trail Raceway outside Columbus, Ohio. In its 17th year, the specialty drag race is a featured auxiliary event to the Goodguys 17th PPG Nationals at the Ohio Expo Center – one of the largest hot rod, custom & muscle car events in the country featuring over 6,000 ’72 and earlier vintage vehicles.
Headlining the one-night-only drag race are the fuel altereds of “Bullet Bob” Floch and Troy Martin. The colorful Bullet Bob ’28 Dodge will be piloted by recent IHRA Nitro Jam winner Don Blackshear while Troy Martin will strap into his “Missing Pieces” ’34 Ford fuel coupe promoting autism awareness! Both cars are real nitro hot rods capable of 5-second, 250mph runs! A 6-car field of nose-in-the-air Willys and Anglia’s from the Nostalgia Gassers Racing Association will join the nitro burners insuring an action packed program.
Sportsman racing is also on the docket with 5 classes for Hot Rods, Street Machines and Comp cars. All sportsman entries must be 1972 or older to compete. No pre-registration is necessary.
National Trail Raceway gates open Friday, July 11th at 2pm, tech opens at 3pm and time runs begin at 4pm. Final eliminations start at 7pm. Exhibition cars run at 7pm and 9pm.
