Greetings from Music City USA and the sultry south! We are off and running for a wide open weekend of fun here at Nissan Stadium in downtown Nashville. But before we can get into today – we’ve gotta tell ya about last night’s Advanced Plating Open House and Kickoff Party.

As they do every year, Steve and Sheri Tracy and their team (including old friend Josh Mishler) hosted at least a thousand of us for dinner, shop tours, music and good times. Not only that – they had the best custom cars and trucks in the world on display – Creative Rod & Custom’s C/10, Dennis Johnson’s “Split Ray” ‘66 Corvette, Ted Hubbard’s raked Model A, Ed Sears’ 1941 Ford Pickup, Larry and Robbie Giffey’s ‘54 Custom Corvette, Matthew Gordon’s “Time Merchant” ’32 RPU, Dr Dan Peterson’s “Hill Country Flier” ‘32 Ford Roadster and so many more!

Today the Nissan Stadium grounds were filled with hard core hot rodders. With warm and steamy weather throughout the day – we dodged a bullet with the thunderstorms that stayed to our north. After the Hot Rod of the Year candidates all blasted off for their Friday Reliability Run, all paddocks and lawn areas swelled with sweet rides as the action progressed. One thing we love about this event is its close proximity to so many hi-level builders. Alloway, Johnson’s Hot Rod Shop, Rutterz Rodz, Hudson’s Rod & Custom, Jason Graham, Ricky Bobby’s Rod Shop – they’re all nearby and they’re all here!

The cars, the midway, the swap meet and the sightseeing were in full swing by afternoon setting the table for a spectacular Saturday. Tomorrow’s weather looks similar to today – if you like it warm and sultry – we got ya covered! Get here early as it will be packed!

Please take note! Tomorrow morning there is a change to the car entry gate schedule. Due to the Titans 5K run there is an alternate show car entry gate. It will be open at 5:30am until 7:45am. No show cars can enter from 7:45-9am. Show car entry gate will reopen once all runners have passed through at approx. 9am.

See you in the morning!
