The 26th running of the Lone Star Nationals presented by Summit Racing kicked off today with hundreds of hot rods pulling through the tunnel into the infield of Texas Motor Speedway early this morning. Clouds quickly broke way to sunshine and by noon a full day of rodding was ahead of us. The horsepower roared today with the Team Texas NASCAR rides circling the oval, five Nitro Thunderfest vintage top fuel dragsters sounding off to a packed crowd and Goodguys AutoCross weaving the cones on the infield by turn four. Add in fun activities for the kids, hot rod shopping in the packed vendor midway and plenty of cool hot rods, customs, muscle cars and pickups to check out, and this years Lone Star Nationals is shaping up to be one for the books!

We had a great opening day of the Lone Star Nationals and it’s just the beginning. Tons of activities are planned for tomorrow including the Hall of Fame Road Tour making their arrival, the Summit Racing shoppers paradise taking over an entire cup garage, the final 2018 Top 12 finalist being selected for Muscle Car, Muscle Machine and both Truck early & late, USPS celebrating 50 years of Hot Wheels, the hot rod track cruise in the evening and much more! Here’s a glimpse of some of the fine rides we saw today – stay tuned for more as we kick it into high gear tomorrow!
