Goodguys is revvin’ up for a high-energy happenin’ on the high plains of Colorado as we kick off the 20th Goodguys Colorado Nationals in Loveland!
It’s the perfect time of year to be in this picture-perfect city nestled at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. The days are sunny and warm, the nights are cool, and the car-crazy enthusiasts in this region are eager to show us why some like to call it ColoRODo!
Hot rods, customs, muscle cars, trucks and classics began pouring into the Ranch Events Complex outside Loveland early this morning, cruising in from Denver, Colorado Springs and Pueblo to the south, Fort Collins and Cheyenne, Wyoming to the north, as well as neighboring states like Nebraska and Kansas. These vintage machines bring a rainbow of color and an orchestra of mechanical sound to this majestic area, and they’re sure to keep your automotive senses in tune throughout the weekend.
This is a special event for some special awards, as we’ll be selecting finalists for Custom Rod of the Year, Muscle Car of the Year, and Truck of the Year Early, in addition to more than 80 other awards to be handed out Sunday afternoon. On top of that, after hosting our Friday evening kickoff party, Eric Peratt of Pinkee’s Rod Shop – just down the road in Windsor, Colorado – will be selecting his Top 10 for the Builder’s Choice awards. We can’t wait to see what rides bring home the hardware!
Beyond the showin’ and shinin’, dozens of machines will be tearing up the AutoCross track throughout the weekend. Twisty mountain roads may give this region’s drivers an advantage when it comes to corner carving, and if today’s on-track action is any indication, it’s going to be a fast and furious weekend!
There’s plenty of other action on tap, too, with Specialty Auto Auctions hosting a classic car auction on Saturday, Nitro Thunderfest cars firing up throughout the weekend, a sensational swap meet and Cars 4 Sale Corral, kids activities, live music, and a great turnout of vendors and manufacturers showing off their latest parts. If you’re anywhere near the Rocky Mountain region, you’ll want to make your way to Loveland this weekend to take in the action. Come join us!
