Summer may be winding down, but Goodguys is keeping its foot on the throttle of the 2018 season as we kick off the 21st Colorado Nationals at The Ranch Events Complex in Loveland!
September is a great time for the hot rod and custom car faithful to gather at the base of the Rocky Mountains in northern Colorado, with warm, sunny days and cool nights that are perfect for cruising. Rodders responded by arriving in full force today, filling the facility with candy colors, bright chrome, and rumbling V8 power that echoed through the pine trees.
The rides rolled in consistently all day, coming not only from here in Colorado, but also Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and points west like Utah, New Mexico, and Nevada. They’ll be vying for a wide range of hardware this weekend, including Builder’s Choice Top 10 awards selected by Eric Peratt of Pinkee’s Rod Shop, plus finalist selections for Custom Rod of the Year, Muscle Car of the Year, and Truck of the Year Early. We’ll also be making a Gazette Pick and Fuel Curve Pick this weekend.
Cars and trucks will be dodging cones and carving corners on the south side of the facility all weekend at the Goodguys AutoCross track. The fastest 16 will battle it out Saturday afternoon in the Western States Shootout presented by Pennzoil. There’s sure to be some exciting, high-altitude action!
Speaking of action, there will be plenty of activity throughout the weekend, from the Saturday Burnout Competition, to ground-shaking Nitro Thunderfest exhibitions. There’s even a Specialty Auto Auction on Saturday where you can shop for a new cruiser! We’ll also have kids activities, a full swap meet and car corral, live music, top-name manufacturers and retailers selling parts, and much, much more. If you’re anywhere along the Front Range, you owe it to yourself to stop in and join us for some rumblin’ Rocky Mountain fun!
