The final day of the 2017 Hall of Fame Road Tour came to an end but not before we checked out three bitchin’ stops on our way to Fort Worth, TX for this weekend’s Summit Racing Lone Star Nationals.
We rolled out of San Antonio and made our way over to fellow Hall of Fame Road Tour participant’s Harold & Tracy Chapman’s place in the small town of Andice, TX. Harold and Tracy were kind enough to invite us to both their home as well as their Custom & Hot Rods of Andice shop which is about a mile away. The CHRA crew was in full swing with many builds from a Dodge Coronet to a Cadillac limo. They served up lunch for everyone and we hit the road for a little more than a two-hour trek into Arlington, TX to see the brand new grand opening Summit Racing shop.
The new Summit shop is your local auto parts store on overkill, and then some. From hundreds of wheels hanging on the wall, to bolt-on performance parts such as superchargers, turbo’s, nitrous kits or various suspension products and anything else you could want or need, they have it. They gifted each Hall of Fame Tour participant with a Summit goodie bag as we exited our cars which surrounded one of the many popular Big Foot monster trucks. We spent at least an hour checking it all out, and many found themselves standing at the cash register before we rolled out.
The final stop of the 2017 tour took us to our dinner stop at Painless Performance. These guys made sure we ended our run with a bang by bringing in a delicious BBQ catered dinner followed by guided tours through their shop and warehouse. After the Painless Performance tours, the group headed separate ways to various hotels around the Fort Worth area in preparation of the Lone Star Nationals event at Texas Motor Speedway.
Although we’re all sad to see it end, we’re happy to relive the memories and reminisce about all that happened during this week-long journey. Hall of Fame Tour regulars enjoyed the new route while first timers are already talking about reserving their spot on next year’s trip. This is all for the road tour, hope you enjoyed tagging along!
