The sun and some sizzling show cars were out in force in Northern California today. For over 35 years, Goodguys and gearheads have been getting together at the Pleasanton Fairgrounds 40 miles east of San Francisco to show off, hang out, cruise and come together. Today was opening day of the 24th Summer Get-Together featuring over 2,500 American made and powered show cars of all years makes and models.
With the perfect weather, it was top-down cruisin’ all day long as thousands of mega muscle cars, hot rods, and tricked out trucks flooded the fairgrounds. Since it began back in 1993, the Summer Get-Together has always leaned toward the summer coming out party for muscle cars and street machines. It still has that flavor today with such features as the 50th Anniversary Camaro exhibit and specialty awards like Goodguys 2017 MSD Muscle Car of the Year where a finalist was selected.
Further yet, the West Coast Muscle Car Shootout presented by Fuel Curve (https://fuelcurve.com/) AutoCross featured incredible racing as the west’s biggest stars wove through the cones at hi-speed. Throw in the first-ever Goodguys Burn Out competition and it was a day of smoke and fury!
We also had the Cruiser Rama vintage bicycle exhibit, Pin Striper’s Brush Bash, a jammin’ swap meet, kids activities and rockin’ live music out here today. The good news is – if you missed today, you can catch us again out here tomorrow where we will feature the winner’s circle with the weekend’s top cars as well as final eliminations of the Fuel Curve West Coast Muscle Car Shootout!
