Goodguys AutoCross action heated up as Atlantic coast racers took to the track Friday and Saturday at the 3rd North Carolina Nationals for some full throttle, tire-squealing, gear-slammin’ fun. Close to 50 lead-footed drivers took to the course, steering their machines through the turns in an attempt to grab the fastest time possible. It was a great day of racing as V8 thunder and cheers filled the air throughout the afternoon. This is a big track, with plenty of room for the racers to hit 2nd gear and stretch their car’s legs. It was a fast and fun day, that’s for sure!

The PRO class action was as hot as the asphalt during the first two days of the 3rd North Carolina Nationals. Ryan Mathews stabbed & steered the DSE 1972 Corvette to a commanding lead over the rest of the field with a fast lap of 38.078 that stuck for the win. Nipping at Mathews heels was Chris Smith’s sleek ’70 Corvette and Kyle Tucker’s 1970 Camaro. Not a bad day for DSE with two drivers on the podium. Meanwhile, Chris Smith continued his hot streak, finishing second and extending his series points lead.
