From stirring patriotic tributes, to FREE admission, this weekend’s 29th FuelCurve.com Autumn Get Together presented by Crazy Bulk was all about honoring our Veteran’s and Active Duty Military members. The Veteran’s Day vibes were felt throughout the weekend shining a light on those who sacrifice for our freedom. After all, is there anything more patriotic than classic American cars?

With sunny skies, the Pleasanton Fairgrounds was full of incredible iron. From new Corvettes and Mustangs to pre-war hot rods, everyone settled in for a fun weekend. The special event attractions had everyone extra busy!

Out in the festival lot, the “Smash for Cash” Demolition Derby provided edge-of-your-seat action. With proceeds benefiting the Hayward Firefighters Union Local 1909 the field succeeded in smashing and fun raising. Right Next door was the popular Burnout Contest which, according to a bystander, was “Off the Hook!”

The special invocation, raising of the colors, and the live National Anthem stirred souls. The special “Vette’s for Vets” parade was a highlight for many especially the Veterans (some of which were wounded in combat), who got a ride in a Corvette through the fairgrounds. The smiles were wide!

Throw in the special indoor truck exhibits, vintage trailer displays, Cruiser Rama custom bicycles, the Goodguys “Fall Shootout” AutoCross action (won by Scott Fraser), Nitro Thunderfest blast off’s, the massive swap meet and Cars 4 Sale Corral and finalists picks for both categories of Goodguys 2019 Trucks of the Year and you had a fun and frenetic fall festival of speed.

Those trucks claiming finalist spots’ in the Early and Late categories were Chirs & Andela Church with their 1940 Ford and Craig Moore with his 1972 Chevy El Camino. Mike Menniti’s slammed 1959 Chevy Impala was selected as the Gazette Pick while Kirk Jennings’ 1957 Chevy was chosen for the Fuel Curve Feature.

We send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to show off their rides and salute our freedom fighters.

With next weekend’s 21st Southwest Nationals capping a great 2018, we’re at the finish line of a fantastic season. Join us at Westworld of Scottsdale if you can!
